About Me

Ebong Eka was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Nigerian parents. Ebong attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he majored in Accounting and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Accountancy. While at Calvin College, Ebong also played varsity basketball and received All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades. Before entering the accounting profession, Ebong played professional basketball for two years in Switzerland and England. After his two year pro basketball stint, Ebong moved to the Washington, DC area and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Creativity had always played a constant role in Ebong’s life and this creativity was pursued through his writing and art. These creative endeavors manifested itself into a desire for designing classic mens wear. Mi Chiamo is Italian for “My Name is” and is used as a method of introduction. He started Mi Chiamo Eka in 2007 after being name by Washingtonian Magazine as one of Washington, DC’s Best Dressed.

EbongEka.com is an attempt to help people take control of their wardrobes, lives and styles. Ebong is also utilizing his ‘right brain’ -”My Right Brain felt left out so I also started a finance blog called Money Mentoring Minutes that can help everyday people and entrepreneurs take control of their financial lives.” Money Mentoring Minutes will feature video on financial issues that affect everyday people and seek to serve as a resource to empower people.

Ebong continues to build Ericorp Consulting, Inc., his accounting and consulting practice for individuals and businesses. Ericorp Consulting has a customer facing business model that is integrated accountability and integrity. Ebong believed it was imperative to continue encouraging the growth of financial acuity.

When Ebong is asked “Is it possible to use both the left and right sides of your brain?” He always answers, “Yes it is! I’m living proof”.
